Amazing

Scott's family has memorial day on the first weekend of May, so this weekend we headed to Alabama. I usually don't like to go because every time I am there I am on my period and it is raining. Not a good combo. So this time I wasn't on my period, thank goodness, but it still rained, which was fine. Scott had an exciting weekend planned so I would enjoy myself.

When we got there Scott's cousin John just finished fixing his motorcycle. He took me on a couple short rides around the neighborhood but that's about it. So this time he told me to hop on and we went for a nice little cruise in the countryside. It was so beautiful!

Next Scott took me to one of his best friends house. His name is Bob and he has a lot of horses that he raises. Scott worked for him in high school and after his mission a little bit. The man is a good old southern country man that has more money than you can imagine, and you would never know it. So here we are, trying to ride a horse that is not fully broken. I wouldn't let Scott let go of the reigns.

Next the guys decided they wanted to hit a few golf balls. So we went out into the field in front of Bobs house.

Bob let me drive this little tractor four wheeler thing that they all call the gator. He said we should go check out a place called horseshoe bend. Scott had been wanting to take me but we never ended up going. So I was the awesome off roading chauffeur for he day and it was so much fun. Here are some picture of horseshoe bend.

BEAUTIFUL!!! I love nature so much.

And finally the high light of my weekend was seeing Scott's cousins lake house. Now this cousin of Scott really helped "mentor" him in a way when he was growing up. He started a company and made millions. He was talking about his lake house and Scott said that he still hadn't seen it. So he told us to come on and he would show us. so we snuck out of the family reunion dinner and headed to Smith Lake with his 2 daughters, his brother. So we drive up and see these most awesome chairs. So we just had to test them out.

Then he takes us around the house to show us the lake.

And the Dock / Pavilion...

The house from the dock...

His cousin taking Scott out on the jet ski to see the house from the lake. I got to go too but I don't have any pictures.

Now I know this picture is extremely blurry, but I couldn't get my camera to focus right in the dark. But just imagine seeing this house on the water! Its breathtaking!

And lastly the Bear that he shot on one of his hunting trips in Alaska.

The entire house is made out of Cyprus wood and it smells so incredible. We stayed there for quite a while and his cousin showed us his Alaskan fishing trip video, his pictures of the African hunting trip he took his family on, and tons of pictures of places he has been. It was just so amazing. It built my dream so so so so so much.
He told Scott that we could come down any time and stay. He also told him to keep up his hard work and he would benefit from the results. Wow wow wow. The best part is...... the lake house is paid for.

Camping

Scott and I were able to go camping with our branch this last weekend and we had a blast. I decided to invite my brother Masato to come because he has never been camping, And he had so much fun.

We took Masa out on one of the canoes and he loved it. We gave him the paddle and he rowed and he kept asking if he could jump out of the boat! Crazy 4 year old.

Some of the kids wanted to go swimming , so they decided to jump right in with their clothes on.

Trying to cook a hot dog. the rod was bigger tah he was and he had a hard time holding it up

Eating his first hot dog cooked over a camp fire

Our friend Cindi gave him this light that goes on his head and he loved it. He didnt want to take it off.

Our tent with the chitlins.

Spying on people.

Scott let Masa jump out of the kayak cause he wouldn't stop asking. What a little daredevil

Those are all the cute pictures I got of our camping extravaganza. We had so much fun! Scott is taking me horse back riding next weekend so I will have more picture to upload soon:)

Service

So I am really bad about agreeing to do service, and then complaining to my husband about how I don't want to do it. Then I go and do it reluctantly, and then feel great about it afterwards and want to keep doing more. Its just a cycle. Well Scott does not like for anyone to complain around him. He is very positive and wants others to feel happy and uplifted around him. He hears me out because I am his wife, but I know he doesn't like to hear it. So he has been helping me with this weakness I have.
Well during General conference I wrote a bunch of notes, but here is some things I heard on service that related to me and my issues.

" Let us love at all times. Let us be there for our brothers and sisters at times of adversity, serve each other" (Not an exact quote but its close)

" Turn to the Lord, put your trust in him, and serve him in all diligence and he will deliver you from bondage"

"We must learn to not complain and murmur through our trial. When we go through our challenges, seek more from God,... through trials, continue to serve others...When we work to relieve the burdens of others, we forget about ourselves... Lose yourself in service"

Isn't that powerful? It really hit me during conference how I am so thankful for my amazing husband who will serve serve serve until he just cant any more. How he never complains about serving. How he will drop everything he is doing to help a friend, or even a stranger on the side of the road. I am so thankful to have such a powerful example in my home and I hope that one day I can be as positive as he is and so willing to serve like he is.
