Camping

Scott and I were able to go camping with our branch this last weekend and we had a blast. I decided to invite my brother Masato to come because he has never been camping, And he had so much fun.

We took Masa out on one of the canoes and he loved it. We gave him the paddle and he rowed and he kept asking if he could jump out of the boat! Crazy 4 year old.

Some of the kids wanted to go swimming , so they decided to jump right in with their clothes on.

Trying to cook a hot dog. the rod was bigger tah he was and he had a hard time holding it up

Eating his first hot dog cooked over a camp fire

Our friend Cindi gave him this light that goes on his head and he loved it. He didnt want to take it off.

Our tent with the chitlins.

Spying on people.

Scott let Masa jump out of the kayak cause he wouldn't stop asking. What a little daredevil

Those are all the cute pictures I got of our camping extravaganza. We had so much fun! Scott is taking me horse back riding next weekend so I will have more picture to upload soon:)

Service

So I am really bad about agreeing to do service, and then complaining to my husband about how I don't want to do it. Then I go and do it reluctantly, and then feel great about it afterwards and want to keep doing more. Its just a cycle. Well Scott does not like for anyone to complain around him. He is very positive and wants others to feel happy and uplifted around him. He hears me out because I am his wife, but I know he doesn't like to hear it. So he has been helping me with this weakness I have.
Well during General conference I wrote a bunch of notes, but here is some things I heard on service that related to me and my issues.

" Let us love at all times. Let us be there for our brothers and sisters at times of adversity, serve each other" (Not an exact quote but its close)

" Turn to the Lord, put your trust in him, and serve him in all diligence and he will deliver you from bondage"

"We must learn to not complain and murmur through our trial. When we go through our challenges, seek more from God,... through trials, continue to serve others...When we work to relieve the burdens of others, we forget about ourselves... Lose yourself in service"

Isn't that powerful? It really hit me during conference how I am so thankful for my amazing husband who will serve serve serve until he just cant any more. How he never complains about serving. How he will drop everything he is doing to help a friend, or even a stranger on the side of the road. I am so thankful to have such a powerful example in my home and I hope that one day I can be as positive as he is and so willing to serve like he is.

Its Been a While

So I haven't disappeared yet, but I have been really busy lately. Hence the no posts. Well since the last time I have posted, we have opened up a corporate landscaping company called SureCut. Scott has dreamed about being a business owner and now he has finally started. He is now landscaping and maintaining about 6 apartment complexes with more to come.

We also got free tickets to an Atlanta Thrashers hockey game, that we went to a couple weeks ago and had a blast. I got to meet some people Scott worked with and we were able to go out to dinner with them.

We also went to the Columbia South Carolina temple, and were able to have a fun trip. Sadly, I forgot I had my camera until we were headed home and this is the only picture I got,

I thought it was pretty funny, we had to pull over on the side of the road. The boys just couldn't hang on.

And we also had another baptism in our little branch, Josh, and he asked Scott to baptize him. It was pretty neat. He walked into the church building one Wednesday night and wanted to find somewhere to go to church. Its a pretty neat conversion story. So here is a picture of our branch sisters, Josh and Scott.

And then there was an amazing General conference, as always, and we were able to have some great friends over and our branch sisters. Its great to have such good friends around:)

Well that's it for now, hopefully it wont be so long until the next post.

Valentines Day!!!

Scott and I went to Atlanta for Valentine's day. Our tradition thus far (the last 5
v-days) was that Scott would cook me some fantastically amazing steaks. We would have home made mac and cheese, salad, bread, mashed potatoes and some good sparkling grape juice. Well we decided to change it up a little. Friday, some friends from Alabama invited us to a concert they had tickets too. We were going to go, but there was snow coming to the ATL so we decided we would head to our hotel room early.

Here is where we stayed!

It was so amazing. The people who helped us were so friendly and nice! And the attention to details in the hotel room were amazing. It was the weekend of a life time.

When we got there it was snowing and the roads were icing pretty bad so we walked down the street and ate at Fire of Brazil. It is a spin off from Fogo de Chow, but it was really good.

We walked back to the hotel, and it was freezing cold and wet and snowy. So we decided to stay in for the rest of the night and watch TV. The next morning we got up late and got ready and ate lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. I got some Miso Salmon and it was so good! And that is crazy coming from me because I don't like the way Americans cook salmon(I am a spoiled Asian:)) We left there and walked to Perimeter Mall and did a little shopping. Scott bought me a valentines gift but he wouldn't let me see it until Sunday. He gave it to me when I first woke up on Sunday morning under the amazing down comforter. When he gave it to me, it made me cry. He is always so sweet and thoughtful.

He got me some perfume and the bottle was engraved! It said:
To Kris, My Best Friend

That night we went at ate at Ruth's Chris Steak House. I have never been, but Scott had been a couple time before. It is the best place I have ever eaten at! It is now my favorite restaurant of all time! We had steaks and sweet potato souffle, salads, and steamed broccali. It was so delicious. I never knew that steaks could taste so good!!!

Hers's us at Ruth's Chris

It was such an amazing weekend and I enjoyed it so much! Especially because I had my husband all to myself for a whole weekend. We have only had a vacation with the two of us on our honeymoon, and our trip to Savannah last August. It was such a great break. I love my amazing husband and I am so happy we have had 5 happy years together.
