New goals

So I decided that I really want to learn how to play the piano. Scott thinks its an awesome idea, so we looked at some keyboards online. I also want to start excersizing seriously. So we looked into some treadmills too. I want to start printing my pictures, and maybe even scrapbook. Then I wanted to start doing some crafty little projects and get my sewing machine back out. I was thinking about all these things that I really want to start doing. Hopefully I will actually start some of these, rather than just thinking them up. And I think I will because I am determined this time.

Disturbed/ Killswitch Engage Concert

Scott and I went with our cousin Kristina, and her boyfriend Jacob to a Disturbed concert last night. (for Kristina's birthday, because she needed some cool chaperones...(haha ya right)). Now heavy metal music is defiantly not my cup of tea, but I really had a good time despite my taste. Scott said he would have to listen to country for three weeks straight to keep himself sane! haha it was so hilarious.

When we walked in, we got right into the t-shirt line, and of coarse being my first concert ever, I had to buy one. Then we went in and jammed out to a band I don't know the name of. Next was some band called Kamiera (I could not understand a word they said:)), then Killswitch Engage. The main guitarist was cracking me up the whole time. He was running around like a crazy kid on steroids (probably high). Then Disturbed came out and everyone went crazy. One song it sounded like they were singing about soldiers, they all had ARMY shirts on, and the main singer had a digi flouge uniform. It was neat. On their last song, he walked through the back and walked right in front of the four of us and got on a platform. Then he got off and walked toward the front. Kristina was so excited. After the concert it took a while to get out of the parking lot, but we made it and headed home. I was so tired from dancing and jumping I fell asleep on the way home.
But all in all I had a really really good time. Scott bought tickets to go to 3 Doors Down, Staind and Blackhole Cherry on May 8. I am now, really really excited for that concert cause I like that music a whole lot more:) Thanks Beth for the tickets! I really had a blast!

Spending as opposed to shopping

This weekend I decided I would treat myself a little. I got a nice bonus from work for hitting our monthly goal. It was so exciting because I have not got a bonus for about a year. So, I decided to do a little spending as opposed to shopping. My friend recommended Ann Taylor Loft, so I went to have a look with my brother. And darn her if I did not fall in love with the store when I first walked in! They had clothes that I actually liked. I have gone to Kohls and JC Penney and a few other stores, and I am just not into the style lately. But this store had exactly what I liked, and to much of it if I might add. I bought a sweater, a t-shirt, and a jacket, and boy was it expensive! (they actually give you free water when you try clothes on). But I don't go shopping very often, so I tried to justify my spending spree. Scott just about had a heart attack when I told him, but he said that I deserved it for all my hard work. He is the best.

After I bought me some clothes, my bother and I walked to the TUX store to see how much it was to rent a tuxedo for his prom. He decided on a black suit, black shirt, black shoes, silver vest, and silver tie. He looked so good! I just could not believe that my brother is going to prom and then graduating next month. I feel like it was just yesterday when we were beating each other up. Its like he is frozen in my head at the age of 10, and its just crazy to see him get older. I am very proud of him, he has grown into a great kid, guy, man, whatever he is:)

Money does not buy happinesss, but it sure does help

Scott finally got a job after 1 year of not working and a lot has already changed. We have been living on my measly salary for that long and it was very tight, but we made it through ok with a lot of stress. Now with an extra pay check laying around it is crazy how much less stress there is around the house. Of coarse we will be saving it up, but it is amazing the change in the atmosphere around the house. Like being able to buy groceries and opening our refrigerator and laughing because we have actual food in the fridge instead of just drinks. Like being able to fix things on our vehicles that were in desperate need of fixing. Like going out for a weekly date so we can get out of the house. Like buying birthday presents for our family and friends. Like being able to afford TV, even though we don't want it, its nice to have that option again. We were happy before, but it just seems like we are giddy now. Just laughing at the dumbest things, that should be normal, but weren't for us. Money sure does not buy happiness, because i know plenty of people with money who are miserable. But for those who have a good life already, it sure does help out.
